It's resolution time again. As 2012 ends and 2013 comes into our viewfinder many of us make resolutions for the new year. Well, in addition to the usual ones of "lose weight" or "get in shape" how about some photography related resolutions? As for me, there are a few things I want to accomplish photography-wise: 1. Take as many photographs as possible. 2. Purchase some new equipment, a fast-prime lens (24-35mm) as well as a macro lens so I can try my hand at photographing little things. For Mark's Photography Spot: 1. Focus the channel on helping the typical person take better photographs 2. Do as many equipment reviews as possible with the reviews focusing on whether or not you're getting your money's worth when purchasing new equipment. 3. Build some interactivity into the channel. My suggestions for your own photography resolutions: 1.Resolve to get your camera out of "Auto"-Take the time to learn about the other modes of your camera such as shutter-priority, aperture-priority and "Manual" so that you can learn how to "drive your camera" as much as possible. 2. Resolve to shoot as much as possible-Get in the habit of taking a camera with you wherever you go and start looking for opportunities to make photographs 3. Be critical of your work-Really look at your photographs and decide what you do and don't like about them then try to improve the next time you go out. That's about it. Both have moved to Sevilla to practice flamenco. I also try to define the flamenco term 'Duende', with interpretative dance and poetry. *Cuenca, a Unesco World Heritage site, has a rich and varied history. Best known for it's Hanging Houses, Cuenca was founded as a Moorish fort, became a centre for religious orders, and more recently, became home for many artists. I interview Alberto Cuesta Senior about the joys of maintaining a garden and spoke with Antonio Perez about his Contemporary Art Museum. *Benimaclet was a farming village on the outskirts of Valencia. As Valencia grows, one history replaces another. Alberto Cuesta, a scientist discusses the changes occurring in his Benimaclet neighborhood. *Cave Dwellers (cuevas) of San Miguel Alto. In Granada I visit the Alhambra, a fine example of Moorish Architecture, which uses the aesthetically pleasing golden ratio in its dimensions. I then learn about cave living, interviewing such characters as Dr, Sun, who uses a solar cooking machine to prepare meals. *What I like about Vigo is that it is not a tourist town. To clarify you can shoot up to four 720p 19 minute long video files on a 16gb card, it is possible to shoot up to four 29 minute long movies on the lowest video quality setting however the image quality is just too low to make the slight increase in duration worthwhile in my opinion. When shooting video the camera drains an enormous amount of power I have invested in some rechargable batteries to deal with this inherient problem. I would still recommend this as a beginners camera for the functions mentioned in this review at this price. It wasn't an easy choice. Photography has become increasingly accepted as an art form over the last 20 years - and like fine art is starting to become an investment. The fair attracted photography professionals from all over the world. A lot of the work on display is by women, and deals with social and political issues. The official promo video for the Rolling Stones' 1994 single "Love Is Strong". The track was the first single from the 1994 Grammy award winning album, Voodoo Lounge. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and produced by Don Was, the song features Mick Jagger on lead vocals, harmonica and maracas, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood on electric and acoustic guitars and backing vocals, newcomer to the band Darryl Jones on bass guitar, Charlie Watts on drums, and Bernard Fowler and Ivan Neville on backing vocals. The video was filmed in New York City and directed by David Fincher, who went on to direct Fight Club, the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the Social Network (for which he won a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for best director) and the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which garnered him an Academy Award nomination. Robert Duffy edited the video at Spot Welders in California, USA, and received the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) award for Best Music Video (Short Form) in 1994 for his innovative editing techniques. The directors of photography were Gary Waller and Mike Trim, and Fred Raimondi is credited with special effects, who were all nominated for MTV Video Music Awards in 1995 for their work on the video.
